How Mobile Tech Can Help You At Work And At Home

Posted on April 1, 2016 by Daniel at 12:22 pm

Have you gone mobile yet? Sure, you probably have a smartphone, but are you using it for more than just texting and making calls? Your mobile technology, from phones to tablets, can help you in home life and in work life, in many ways.

Luckily, the places you keep your money have jumped on the mobile bandwagon as well, and most banks and credit unions now have mobile apps, so you can check balances and deposit money wherever you are. But there’s more to it than that.

Managing Your Money

Start out by making sure you have the apps for all of your banking centers loaded onto your mobile devices. If you aren’t home, and the area you are in isn’t home to the bank you use, having them on mobile makes it so you are forever connected. Use it to transfer money, make payments, deposit money, or even just check your balance to make sure you don’t overdraft your account while on a business trip.

Even checking into your banking account on a laptop or desktop computer can be a key to being more money wise. This allows you to make sure you haven’t missed any payments going out, which could accidentally overdraft your account. Check often, because you can also catch bank fraud and errors this way as well.

Keeping Track Of Your Schedule

Aside from money matters, being mobile is a great way to keep track of all of the things you need to do each day, and week. This can comes in especially handy for those that are juggling work and family. Set reminders for business meetings and the kid’s play.

You can use your phone itself, by setting alarms to remind you of tasks that happen daily, at the same time, or weekly on the same day and time. Or you can use something like Google Calendar to send you notifications to remind you about special events, meetings, and more. You’ll never forget another recital again.

Making It Work For You

None of these things will work for you if you aren’t up on technology and carrying around a smartphone and/or tablet with you. Plus, you need to take the time to set this stuff up for yourself. They are smartphones, but they’re not that smart.

It only takes a few moments to download a calendar app, and even less time to update it each time you have a new thing to add to your schedule. It’s simply a responsible thing to do. If you’re commuting most of the day you don’t have time to look at a calendar on your desk, so your mobile tech will be your lifeline.
